The power on this setup is a 1 1/2 h.p. motor that has been adapted to
be reversable.
There are three stations
- The first picture shows the flat disk sander with a salvaged
adjustable base plate to allow angle sanding. It also shows the tension
spring for the belt.
- Second is the 10" contact wheel, from Coote. I've been
experimenting with the wood extension that is bolted to the adjoining
table. The motor is attached to a pulley another on the top end.
Moving the belt allows the changing of speed.
- In the second picture you get a view of the flat sander.
The piece sitting against the sander is attached to the
bottom piece. On the sanding side is a thin edge where a blade is
placed and the device pushed forward to get a flat surface.
Behind the belt is a piece of pyrex glass glued onto a metal
backing.
